Hey... me and some co-workers threw this little bit together for a Charity Talent night at work... we quickly learned it and practiced it only a few times before we had to play... I'm the big guy in red... the other guitarist and the bassist were a little unsure of their parts but did alright.... i make some awful noise at times as welll... The singing is done by the drummer with a headset

but here it is with all it's warts left in

LOL my buddy on the LP is so funny!!!!! we want to get him some Angus Young outfits... LOL!!!!!! My mother watched that clip for the first time last night and she was laughing her butt off at that part! He does not know how to play past a few chords, and has serious stage fright!!! but he sure makes the most of it when we push him into stuff like this...

me and the drummer are thinking of getting a bar band together oneday with some different people

Re: a little Zeppelin...

everyone that has seen this clip is laughing at my buddies movements in the middle of heartbreaker!!! God we have to get him a an Angus Young outfit for sure!

Great playing, but your buddy definitely stole the show! Get him a wireless, and he'll be off and running. :)

that is why we made him play the show... last May was the first show we played... 1st he ever did in his life.... we thought he'd cr*p a load and mess up... but he did so well... There is a clip of us on Youtube doing Schools out from that show.. we were surprised he just seemed to loose all his fear and had some fun...

this was shot on a better camcorder... an expensive one with a good mic... we played it pretty good... in the middle we kind of train wreck but recover... and my amp during one of my lead fills went real weak all of a sudden... it turned out to be a bad cord... the girl trying to help sing back up never rehearsed with us... she was part of a group of teens we tried to get to sing back up... but they all backed out... she did it alone...

Re: a little Zeppelin...

Why have you added an extra note to the Heartbreaker riff? It's really annoying!

I enjoyed the vid, but your pal on guitar was great while you seem to be watching the drummer rather than looking at the crowd. Are you sure it's not you that has stage fright?

oh ya i'm stiff on stage... and ya i fight stage fright myself as well... but this night i didn't feel it at all... worst was when one of my old bands played in front of 10,000... that night i had to pee 3 times 10 minutes before show time... LOL

most of the time i'm just trying to play the music as close as i can remember... besides being 300 pounds does not make it easy for any real classic stage movements... but i'm working on that... by summer i hope to thin out a fair bit more...

the reason i'm watching the drummer is odd but it works for us...... he is waiting for cues from me and i could hardly hear him both nights because of a lack of a real monitor system... so watching him and he watching me we stay together.... and the other guitarist tries and follow both of us...

i may of added a extra note... where, main riff? Am i adding an extra note Jimmy didn't play on record...? i know during the verse chords the bassist didn't know the bass part so i just riffed along..that was the way the main riff sounded on the record to me but since we threw this together in a few weeks time it was not note for note... also the other guitarist is not playing it in time with me in the beginning...

i ran thru vavious different tab prints of it in Zep books and guitar magazines i've collected over the years and that is the best version of that riff i came across... for example, most of the current tab books in print don't show one of the notes being played as an octave, but some others do...

we were just jamming on it as close as we could, not note for note... the solo i threw in there was part based on the record and part me just wizzing away trying to get close

when we did Schools Out i also ran thru my huge TAB book and mag collection and found 3 different versions of it and made up my own based on what sounded best... i wrote out my co-workers parts for him as well... Tab books are not exactly what the artist plays i've found...

Livin Lovin Maid on this clips again just what i took from various tab books and re-arranged it until i liked it... wrote out some parts for my buddy

Re: a little Zeppelin...

I may have sounded overly critical, I really did like the performance, it was really cool. I thought you must have been watching for cues, it just seemed like you watched a bit too much. But the other guitarist more than made up for it! :)

Maybe I'm hearing the song differently from you - Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" is kinda similar in that I always think of it as having a note less than it actually does. I KNOW how it should sound but I hear it in my head with a note less, it just sounds better to me (I hope I explained that right there, looks a bit weird reading it back!).
I was talking about the main riff, the one that actually kicks the song off - there's definetely a couple of extra notes being played there.
Or is it just me? No one else mentioned it.
