A moment of weakness = NGD

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
I know I said I was done.....but eh, I could'nt say no to this one... B stock/Cheap to begin with + 50 bucks off (paid the equivalent of $250) cuz it had a slight finish flaw/wrinkle in the paintjob at the side ..can't really notice it unless you're really looking hard for it though..

Ever since I got my two Baretta Specials last year I've wanted a Kramer with a Floyd of some sort. This one has a non-recessed (my first axe with one) Floyd Rose Special and it's great. Keeps perfect tune and has a usable upward-pull range too. Just like my Baretta special's this one came out of the box absolutely perfect as far as fit & finish/setup was concerned.

Flawless frets, great low action. awesome neck joint/pocket, really nice stock pup's (though I might throw in a Custom 5 bridge and '59 in the neck w/ chrome pup rings that I already have in my parts drawer....just so I can put them somewhere lol) , amazing sustain, gorgeous looks/color. The works....it's a joy to play.

The new Kramers are probably the best playing/sounding cheap axes out there right no :bigthumb:

Some 80's style jamming after I got some basic setting up done as per my personal preference...

If I'm to be honest, I'm eyeing the new Kramer Striker's too....they look pretty sweet and the price is right :p
They have'nt showed up here yet, but who knows what i'll do if that happens :lmao:

Kramer vs. Kramer:

More 80's style jamming w/ my purple Baretta :bigthumb:

Another awesome cheap axe...def needs a trem though. If it was'nt for having to shim the neck and all that ****, I'd love to mod it BUT, I don't have the skills and I don't want to bugger it up...so trem-less it stays..

Well, you know what they say (or at least what I say)...can't have too many guitars.

Whoever "they" is, they is not my wife.

That said she is a sweetheart when something is really cool..."Ibanez Iceman, oh hell no you are not in trouble"

Soon as I get my silver mounting rings from amazon...

It's going from this:

..to this (Custom 5 bridge and '59 neck):

Stock pups do sound pretty sweet but I'm not crazy about white pups & going by my alder Charvel with a Custom 5 bridge I do think it will sound killer in this axe :bigthumb:

Nice colour! I’ve given up on saying I’m not getting any more gear, I just bought another 3 basses and I play more 6 string. If it happens it happens. Great guitar though, well done.

Yeah, I get ya.

My wife put the breaks on several years ago when I only had about 4 dozen guitars and I was making them for my own pleasure. But now that I'm selling them she's very encouraging and I can't make them fast enough to please her...ha, ha. But she is really supportive. Sometimes you just get really lucky and marry the right one...practical, but loving and supportive.

Yeah, it's fate. You can't fuck with fate... :laugh2:

And thanks, these new Kramer's are really great, I'm sure the old one's were too ( look at the list of guy's who played them back then). But it's nice that they're being reissued (and for affordable prices) so those of us that missed out on them the first time around can get to play them now as 50 yr old f.arts :lmao:

I love that color, and the upgrades you have panned are an improvement.

Thanks, I love the colour too. There was just one online store stocking them here and they only had the red one listed. I'd have been happy with that, But luckily when I asked about the purple, they said they had 1 pc. in stock with some minor cosmetic damage. Pics followed, plus a decent discount & viola!

The silver pup rings will take a week or so to get here, so I have to twiddle my thumbs until then, but I'm looking forward to hearing it with Duncan's :bigthumb:

I'm gassing for a red Striker too. They are'nt available here atm though so I'll have to wait. Regarding the Pacer, The fret job was perfect out of the box. Flawless really. No sharp fret ends whatsoever. Frets are medium not jumbo. but they're really smooth & even..it plays brilliantly..

My Baretta's were Mahogany/Indo ...the Pacer is alder/MIC. They're both pretty much identical quality-wise though.

Just put some planet waves locking tuners on the purple Baretta. I had to use a round file to slightly enlarge the holes for them to fit though....just a few seconds filing for each tuning peg 'cause they practically fit anyway ..just kinda tight :bigthumb:

..and played a tune to check them out :D

I got the new pup's (SD Custom 5 bridge/ '59 Neck) w/ silver rings in yesterday. Sounds pretty sweet & looks great though I still need to fine tune the pickup heights..

^^ I was'nt too happy with the way the custom 5 sounded or felt in there. a bit thin/sterile/hi-fi which is nothing like the one in my Charvel sounds. Well, it turns out I had cold solder joint from the pickup's hot wire to the volume pot...fixed that and it's soundng gloriousl like it does in the Charvel...that nice thick, sweet/harmonically rich, kinda spongy tone I love which is a huge relief :D

Quick jam:

..and a redone version of the ballad with the properly soldered Custom 5 :bigthumb:

Nice & fat & warm..not clinical & hi-fi sounding like it was with the crappy soldering :laugh2:..
