I just got a used Epiphone sheritan 2 for a sweet price. I've wanted a semi hollow for a long time.

She's in the shop right now for a proper setup and a set of 12's. I REALLY want to cram some ants or seths in there eventually.

What kind of music are you playing with 12's? I thought I was bad with 11's! As far as pickups go ants would be good but consider Alnico II's. these pickups are surprisingly warm in a semi hollow guitar

i use 12's on my 335 just like the op. Back before the 1960's these were considered mediums.
To the OP - try out the pyramid hand wound nickel strings. Very soft feel and singing sustain.

I tune a half step down and toggle between "standard" and "dropped d" so I normally play d'addario 11's with a 52 on the low E...

But this particular guitar needed a little extra tension due to the lack of neck relief. But hey, SRV used 13's like a badass.

Thanks man! as far as the alnico 2's, I have an alnico 2 pro in the neck of my les paul and it is very... Thick? sounds good but I wonder if it might sound too big in a semi hollow. I really don't know though.
