Being a guitar player as well I clearly see and respect your point, My idea was to give a place for people whom have spent the majority of thier music lives working the bottom. And the questions that i have asked have indeed been pick up related but as you well know there are numerous other factors to a Basses tone than just the pick ups and it would give them/us a place to discuss specific ideas and issues.

I wasn't really in favor of the "Electronics" forum that someone suggested earlier, but I think a "Bass" forum might be a nice addition. If we added that, and not much else, we would still have a streamlined forum compared to most.
I don't think my opinion is biased by the fact that I'm about to buy a bass . . . but its possible.

As a bass player myself I like the idea although I'm not sure we get enough bass specific questions to warrant a seperate forum area. Maybe if there was a seperate area though more bass players would post.
I sure see a lot of mis-information tossed around at bass forums about SD and other bass pickups so a reliable source of information could be helpful.

It's a nice idea, but I have to admit that it would be a forum room that I would not frequent on a regular basis. Therefore, if I had useful information to offer, it would probably be missed.
Bass questions get answered regularly in this and other rooms. I don't see the problem at this time.
