So I made a trade, it was hard, but I really wanted this amp. I sent my Silvertone 1483 to a friend, in exchange for his 6V6 beast. 12 screaming, rich and thick watts, just sounds great!!

Clips to come soon......

The Pacemaker has come home to roost. It's a Pacemaker PM 20. It sports a pair of 6AV6's, a 12AX7, pair of 6V6's, and a 6AX5 rectifier.

Both amps are now modded for guitar. The "Acoustic Control" has been turned into a cathode bypass capacitor selector switch in the amps. It's a nice way to tune the tone subtly without loading down the circuits. ( from www.leftee.net)

Looks GREAT man!

I'm envious. It must be a great amp. I picked up a 1432 a few weeks ago and it is a cool sounding amp, so I figure yours must have been really special!

I dig the look.

Kev you are a big ol' P-I-M-P in my book!!! Congrats bro!!!

There is someone else on this forum that has a sweet new (old) amp that I wish they would share with the group!!!

Re: A new memeber in tha family!!

Hey there tone Yoda Mr.Kevlar this is your laney bro speaking, does this little beast have gain now? I remember Glen Tipton saying that you need fullstack 100watt godzillas for big venue and such but the secret to great tone on a recording are little 15 watts properly miced .... is that the idea????

LOL, I just happen to think tone can come anywhere between 5 and 500 watts!! That said, this amp is a large sounding mofo, like my Traynor Bassmate, it sounds big. I have the full range of outputs, and honestly have more fun with the 100 watters, but use each and every one of my amps. I just tossed a clip of this one in the tips and clips. I am running in full scream mode.....

I threw a bid on a Pacemaker PM-33 that hit Fleabay and ends tomorrow. I put a heavy bid in and right now the price is still decent. It has a hard to find tube in the pre that will have to either be sourced or flat out replaced with a 12AX7 when it finally goes. It looks a lot like yours. Different knobs etc and the top has the original paint (though I plan to give the amp the same treatment that yours has if I win it). It's an 18 watt amp.

Lokin' good. I'll take some photos and show you what I've been unearthing at the botton of the pacific rim...

Re: A new memeber in tha family!!

Lookin' good. 6V6s are cool little critters. Sometime try a 6V6S. I'm sure you'll likr what you hear.

I'll take some photos and show you what I've been unearthing at the bottom of the pacific rim...

Good luck!! I will have to pull the before pic, as that amp was very scruffy!

Please do!, I would love to see what you are getting....

Re: A new memeber in tha family!!

It would have been semi fun to play with, but it went for too much cash for my blood. $80 was my personal cut off point. I'd prefer to have my old silvertone back over that amp at that price point. $80 for something with hard to find tubes that are getting tougher and tougher to find as the days go by isn't a great deal IMHO.
