a new song, with my new amp!!!!

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

noise, needs a lot more definition in the notes and a lot less gain to be heard. From what I hear your going for a slayer type of tone with an ungodly amount of gain (wheres with full distortion when you need em) this is just my opinion. but hey im not a metal guy myself so feel free to disreguard my opinion

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

well man, i won't disregard your opinion because you're right! sort of. i don't think there's too much of it, i think it sucks! lol. i think it is too much noise and that is what makes it undefined. the reason i believe so it's because the pinch harmonics suck on this, like if it's missing distortion, but anymore than what i put makes it too muddy like you say, and if i put less, it loses it's heavey-ness a lot (it's solid state fender distortion, what could we expect! lol.).

i can't wait to see what it will sound like with my ME-50. (i got it back baby!)

what do you think of the song in itself? 1-10? and with my technique, how could i improve?

any more opinions will be greatly appreciated! :D

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

cousin it? heh dont conform to the metal mosher society haha!!1 just kidding. hey tips room yo. chuggin on the low E string yo. videos are hard for metal. but you should back down on the distortion alot, more mids needed. and better recording microphone etc would help.

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

Is it a Fender Ultimate Chorus?

I have one and I have always said, these amps are great for Jazz cleans and metal crunch.

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

what mic/amp? i'd say less gain and more mids but that could just be the recording quality....

riffs were pretty cool but most of the parts seem to be variations of the same thing. if you threw a 1/2 time jazz/blues inspired riff in there to break things up then it would be wicked cool. getting good with a metronome will really make this work

yes sir, it is....

lol.

yeah, it gets the job done... i want to upgrade the soldering becuase i heard that that is what creates all of that white noise. it sucks! other than that, the tone is better than what i expected!

i'm using a fender ultimate chorus straight into the microphone in the little picture camera that recorded the video! :14: i can't afford more right now :friday:

what is "1/2 time jazz/blues"? what does it sound like, you lost me there. lol. i'd like to try that.

you're right though, they are variations, but i left it like that because i like it and they flow. oh, and if you notice (which i'm sure you did) i didn' leave the 0,2,3, and 5 frets lol.

Re: a new song, with my new amp!!!!

i actually added mids from 7 to 10 and the sound change really is minimal, but and lowered the gain from 8 to 7 like you guys suggested. sorry, but any less than seven and it becomes ac/dc with bass! i'll rerecord a more serious version by saturday to see what you guys think then! ;)

think of it like a hiccup that fits within the song.

Most of the song is metal inspired at a fast tempo. Figure out whatever BPM you usually play it at. Get a metronome set to half that speed. Write a slow riff, maybe holding out some notes, a couple bluesy bends, ect to the 1/2 speed (This is going to seem really slow at first) then put it in the song somewhere. This should add some variety/dynamics to the song and make the audience go wtf?! right before you smash their faces in with another metal riff!

I don't really know how to explain it other than that.:banghead: If you still aren't sure what I mean then I can email you an example.

ok, i think i get an idea......

about placement, i was thinking of adding something by the "solo." after that tremolo picked riff that goes into the "solo" then it'll speed up to speed up the solo's feel, then break it back down as a bridge that connects to the riff after the solo. what you think? do i have an idea of what you are talking about?
