A NGD I'm actually excited and happy about!!

As I've mentioned, I'm selling most of my gear since I don't play as much as I used to, and I can do with a few less instruments.

Sold my G&L for a cheapo Ibanez RG plus cash, I wasn't crazy about that one but it's a decent guitar with some cool sounds here and there...
And well, My Tele wasn't getting any time, so I put it for sale and a guy offered some cash plus this...

Yet another Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop Pro like I used to own, this time in Iced Tea! Grovers, Probuckers, the whole deal.
Looks way better than my former Cherryburst, and actually feels and resonates way better as well.
This one rings proudly and sounds the part as well. It feels closer to a Gibson than my old LP ever did, in fact it reminds me of a Tokai I tried recently.
Buttery, low action and beautiful tones overall.

That one was a 2016 made in China, this one is a 2012 made in Indonesia. And it feels far superior.

I'm really, really happy with this one man. Sounds like a LP, plays like butter and it's freaking gorgeous.

Nice looking Epi. It’s interesting, I’ve found a higher ratio of well made, good playing/sounding instruments from Indonesia over China and Korea, and even Japan on some models.

Great news and excellent find. If you’re happy you’ll enjoy playing and what you’re playing more. Nice one!

Something crazy’s happened in those Indonesian factories. My Ibanez 8 string is Indo, and is no way inferior to my MIJ RG.

Congrats!

I just picked up another yesterday. I've had probably 20 over the past 20 years. I love them. Never owned a "bad" one no matter the country of origin.

Obviously there are models that feature better electronics/hardware over another but fit and finish is bar none especially for the price.

I would effing rock it! If it sounds good (Whole Lotta's) I say leave it alone. (Whole Lotta's)It's always great when a Les Paul (Whole Lotta's)is set up to perfection. Makes it so much easier to focus on the tone (Whole Lotta's)you want from your hands.

My Florentine is Ice Tea and Probuckers

Those pickups are just fine

I'm in a whole lotta debt, Bob! I also got laid off yesterday and my first child's on it's way, so Probuckers it is by now!

IF and I mean IF I were to swap mine out, because the Pros are fine, a zebra 59' in the neck and a black JB in the bridge would be in order.

Whole Lottas would be my second choice.

I don't think you would even need a pickup swap. Most issues with the Probuckers can be dialed out with a simple magnet swap if the stock model isn't to your taste. I've never had any issues with them in a Les Paul.

Re: A NGD I'm actually excited and happy about!!

I definitely wouldn't go high output with it, my SZ can handle that just fine.

I like my Les Pauls bright, so I'd probably go with either a Pearly Gates set, or a Screamin' Demon + whatever in the neck.
But frankly, these Probuckers are killer as it is. Balanced, tasteful, moderate output but very sweet.

They're a strong starting point and IMO keepers, unless you need something tremendously specialized or unique for some reason.

That sure is a nice guitar and great looking top. Epiphones are awesome guitars since I have a 2006 Epi LP Standard that plays like a dream.:)

Gorgeous guitar, man. Love that color and glad it plays so nice!

Congrats!

I'm glad to announce that the honeymoon is still going!

It's been months since I've played any guitar for hours. I just wasn't that motivated anymore.

The previous owner had this guitar professionally setup before selling it. The frets were crowned and polished and the damn thing has a brand new bone nut and I hadn't noticed it. No wonder it plays so good. I'm gonna ask who his tech is because this is a great job.

Life is good!
