A particular Vai tone?

There is a song on Steve Vais real illusions cd called glorious that has a wierd guitar sound. the lead guitar sounds kind of like a cat. Is this a wah pedal or is it something else? Like a program off an eventide harmonizer or some thing.:reporter:

That's actually a pedal called the Strangled Cat, IIRC. I know it's a pedal, I just don't remember the exact name.

Actually this particular sound is Vai playing a fretless through a Zoom multi-fx.
