A real Relic Strat

Re: A real Relic Strat

I've never been a fan of relic'd anything. Jeans, guitars, cars (you never know! that big dent could be "relic'd)... Gimmie something mint, and let me age it myself. Then I can say "oh yeah, that's when that crazy person tried to take my guitar onstage... and thats when I dropped it...."

i'm 80% with you on that... but part of me likes playing old worn looking guitars... but you would never see me pay for a new relic.... but i would oddly buy a used and abused strat if it was cheap... this one at they want $1900 Canadian almost.... too much $ for me... but not bad concidering how crazy 70's strat prices have gone.... i love the fact it's a hardtail.... But that bridge would have to go

Re: A real Relic Strat

12 years ago this same beat up heavily modded strat would of sold for $350-$400.... now because of people wanting 70's guitars the prices have shot sky high

Re: A real Relic Strat

...Wow. I don't mind that at all.

Switches :D (though one's missing)

Anodized guard... I hate sunburst, but since lots of that sunburst finish is missing, I can deal with it

Re: A real Relic Strat

ya for some reason this one is calling me.... i have no idea why.... i'd change the bridge, the pickguard and add 6100 frets myself... but the shear cost of buying the thing and doing those mods is just too crazy...

I also saw a 1988 HM strat for $350 Canadain..... that looks intersting as well.... and more cost effective

Alright. If it's a cheap old strat, then I'll definitly buy it.
Old Strat and the word 'cheap' does not exist!:fingersx: hehe

Re: A real Relic Strat

I like my beat to hell 77 crestline.

Relicing a new guitar is stupid though. (No offence.)

And that strat looks great...

Re: A real Relic Strat

That's a great looking strat, though some people might debate the "real" part with those two humbuckers in there. :laugh2:

I kinda like the gold pickguard on that. I don't think I'd change anything.

I'd be one of them. Same with the hardtail.

This has to be the only worn strat I've EVER seen that didn't have some degree of belt rash along the upper body countour.
