Yeahhh... if I got a Warmoth neck it'd be finished and totally cool though... Birdseye maple and a nice rosewood piece. But whatever the price, I gotta pay customs and I can't, they only take credit cards

The problem with Warmoth is their stuff is TOO GOOD. I've had my eyes on a custom job from them with a 59 Roundback contour, diamond inlays amongst other things.
The catch it it's gonna cost me a lot of money, twice as much as I paid for the guitar...
Is it worth it?

Superior, perfection = Warmoth
The problem with Warmoth is their stuff is TOO GOOD. I've had my eyes on a custom job from them with a 59 Roundback contour, diamond inlays amongst other things.
The catch it it's gonna cost me a lot of money, twice as much as I paid for the guitar...

i agree... my Warmoth is the best guitar i own... I wish i could afford a fleet of Warmoth axes to grid....
But with one of my MIM strat i have thought about getting a Warmoth neck and placing the MIM neck aside for resale later.... Take the Warmoth neck off when/if i sell the strat..... and ya the Warmoth neck i want is worth more then the MIM Strat i paid for used..... but a Warmoth neck on that body would be alright by me... it seems to be a nicer piece of poplar...

Ah I checked the prices and a luthier could do me an entirely finished, dressed etc...neck for 135 British pounds. 100% to my specs. Easier than Warmoth as I have no CC
That'll bring the price of a MIM strat to 250 pounds with new electronics... So I could even get a better pickup for the middle position (the one I use the most since I mostly stay between 4, 3, 2, 1) AND upgrade my other axe muahaha... And get a new amp ^_^

Refret charges:
250€ basic incl. setup, new nut (if necessary) and full clean+polish
50€ upcharge for lacquered board or binding w/o nibs,
100€ for both
250€ upcharge for keeping nibs for those that just have to keep them (makes sense for ex. on collectable instruments)
22 fret on a 21 fretter: is possible (to an extent) , but impractical for a few reasons.
1. The fret won´t span the entire width unless the board is replaced or "extended"
2. It´s not always easy to match the exact scale used by the manufacturer (most vary within a few tenths of a mm compared to each other), meaning it may not intonate 100% correctly if your tech isn´t an ace.
3. the end isn´t really "meaty" enough to accomodate a fret, meaning there may be stability issues and the resulting related problems.
