A remake of an old Fleetwood Mac Song

So one of the singers in my band asked if I could put something together that she could sing on outside of the band since she had never had the opportunity to record. I've been wanting to do this song for a long time (Go Your Own Way)
So as usual - guitars, bass, keys and drum midi programming (using S2.0 samples) done my me. I think this one will really come together with the right vocals on it. This is definitely a departure from where my head is normally at...

I learned some good stuff while mixing this - things I hadn't tried previously that worked out pretty well. One thing I learned from Steven Slate (producer) and tried was the use of a clipper on my output mains followed by the UAD Pultec limiter plugin. The clipping trims the peaks and the limiter lets you sneak up on the overall perceived loudness without things getting "pumpy" like you get using a compressor.

Anyway - Cheers!

Thanks everyone. It was a blast recording a cover tune - need to do another one sometime.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Going into the solo I was a bit skeptical when the rhythym guitar deviated from the chord progression in the original song. It's a different take, but I liked it just as well.
Now I know what bassline I will be humming all day long tomorrow :D
Again, great job!
