A Rig that works for you?

Re: A Rig that works for you?

Since playing the first note on it ~18 years ago, I have been a Mark III Man. Mine has been modded to clean up R1 and adjust R2 slightly + reverb mod, although I told Mesa not to TOUCH the lead channel, which is my favorite of any amp. I picked up a MkIV combo years later for portability, but the MkIII stack is what I use when I need all 8 cylinders.

Re: A Rig that works for you?

Started with a Peavey Rage, then an Ampeg then a 160w Crate head. By early 90s I was running stereo 412s and a "rack of doom" through the decade's end. Early 2000s was a Fender Cyber amp, then a Line6 Vetta. By 2005 I was into tube combos and found a Traynor Custom Special paired nicely with my pedals.
In 2009 I played a GenzBenz Black Pearl and fell in love. Bought a combo, then a head. Bought a Mesa DC3 for a backup. Late last year I sold off the GenzBenz, the Mesa and found a Reverend Hellhound 40/60 that's all I really needs to go with my rebuilding of a pedal rig. Picked up a Legacy 212 to pair with my RedFang 112 cab (both cabs 8Ohms).

So if I really need to change my tone I just change pedals and life is good.

Do you need pics?

I have a great setup, I've gotten compliments on it in the past.

I have a 90's era Trace Elliot Booneville 100w head - Pre-Gibson, a Mesa Boogie rectifier 4x12 straight cab (V30s), Fulltone Robin Trower Overdrive pedal, and a 1998 Jackson JJ1 with a JB in the bridge and and Jazz-n in the neck.

With distortion or clean, it just sounds like butter. I have a whole assortment of amps (all Trace Elliot heads) and cabs, along with guitars and pedals, and this one is the best. I use it for any style music I want to play.

Hello "No Pictures Required" it's just fun to see what people have and what their into. From your outline it looks like some great gear! "Awesome" Thanks.

Very nice gear! I also like Mesa equipment, but then it seems I like a lot of gear? Thanks for posting!

When I do use an amp, it is always a Mesa Blue Angel (like this, but with blue leather):
