Re: A Squire Classic Vibe that stays in tune.
I hate the tuners though. I think the ratio is very low. Turning them is almost impossible! Once it's locked in though, it hangs in. (w/ a lot of bending). I have found Sperzal knockoffs for $40 (gold). A Wilkinson vintage big block tremolo-bridge. Tusq nut. I received it with noiseless pups and a humbucker. I never thought I'd be happy with a $230 guitar.
ya youngsters have it good these days with respect to quality entry level guitars.. you can get a guitar that plays nice for not alot of money.. more so if you buy used
my jackson dk-2 is the best guitar Ive owned and paid 270 + maby 200 to 300 or so over the years in upgrades or hardware color changes
I also own a Squire Strat that I bought for 100.. rebuilt it will all new parts that cost around 300. Plays very well
my squire stagemaster I spent 360 used and she plays as well as any 1000 guitar on the market.. in saying that, If squire ever had a top of the line model, this stagemaster was definitely it.. alder body, bindings, locking trem, neck-through construction
dont have to spend alot to get a good instrument now aday.. just.. harder with cheap(price)/entry level guitars
when I was younger.. I bought a semi-custom brand new kramer focus 1000 that was ordered and shipped directly from the factory.. cost as far as i can remember was 1400 with case.. taking into account inflation.. thats like 2800 now.. My stagemaster or DK-2 played better IMO.. both of those guitars are from 2001.. MSRP on the stagemaster was 600 and the DK-2 was like 750
awesome you found a good guitar for not alot of money
