A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
Don't care who you are or what you do, a Tele is simply the only tool you need to do it.

I'm sayin' if you can't do it with this

You just can't do it.

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

Okay, I can buy that.
But thank goodness there are many others to choose from!

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

Definitely a very flexible guitar. Another contender for flexibility is the 335.

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

You could say that about any electric guitar ever made.

Not overly profound really........despite how much I love a great Tele.

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

You absolutely right.

But stratocaster still was huge improvement.

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

I completely agree with this.
Also you can survive on water and bread...

Luckily there's also a nice filet mignon wrapped in a nice, thick, slice of bacon, a couple jumbo prawns with mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.

I kid of course...not about the bread/water comparison, I just don't mean it in a bad way!

A flexible and reliable old thing for many styles of music.
However, the one in the cowboy hat doesnt share this concept for 1 guitar.

Same statement is true for pretty much any up-to-standard, non-broken guitar tbh

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

What if your whole style is based on the tremolo bar though

Or like what if you're Mattias ei eklundh

Or Mick Gordon

Well then, all you need is a superstrat.

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

Needs a tremolo , then maybe it might be true depending on what style of music you play .

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

I don't like the upper fret access with a telecaster. The little cutaway sucks, and I bang my wrist on the horn. I also find myself much preferring to play a guitar with a trem these days. The neck pickup is inferior to a strat neck pickup (bridge pickup is great though - and the tele sounds great with both pickups in parallel). The telecaster is also (bar none) the ugliest guitar shape ever designed. Something that is only enhanced by the prevalence of posers smashing their brand new guitars up with goofy looking 'relicing' to pretend that they're old and well-loved instruments.

Not really for me. :P

Re: A Telecaster is the ONLY electric guitar you need

That is true, they do. But I think it pales compared to something like an old PAF or Antiquity for jazz. I always saw jazz players who use a Tele did it for other ergonomic or economic reasons. All of their tones would have sounded better with an ES-175's neck pickup. But then it depends on how you like your jazz tone.
