A variation on Artie Toos' Slutbucker

This is just a variation on Arties Slutbucker wiring, but instead of 2 humbuckers it's a HSS guitar. Don't pay atention to the diagram on the second pic, that pic is just so you can see the guitar. The diagram I used is the first pic, right below, it can be used on any DPDT switch. This one is a push-pull.

When down the wiring is normal but when the push-pull is up it gives you:
1- bridge split.
2-bridge split/middle.
3-middle.
4-Slutbucker (bridge south coil - neck in series) / middle.
5-Slutbucker (bridge south coil-neck in series).

Enjoy!

Sweet! This gets official pimpologist approval. ;)

ANd that SA is a beautiful guitar. I have been on the look out for that particular model used SA 260fm right?

Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact model. The ax was brought to me to install a Stagmag humbucker in the bridge, it allready had the push-pull which only did a split on the bridge. As I installed it I kept thinking "it's a shame the push-pull doesn't do anything on the singles", so I took a pencil and doodled on the back of the string bag, take a look at the pic.

I figured that wiring would keep the split in humbucker but add Slutbucker when in the neck position. I was bearly hearig that it worked when the owner walked in (I had told him in an hour it was done) so I didn't even have a chance to work on the pickup height. He was in a rush so he said he'd do it himself.

I wish I could have checked the guitar better, but that was that. All I can tell you is that it was a neckthru, kinda chunky neck, and needed some fret work. Bending the first string on the 17th fret it would choke out, so I had to raise the action a bit. Fret leveling would probably have fixed that, but I'm not sure that it wasn't a hump in the neck board in which case a whole refret would be necesary (to level the fretboard itself).

Should have the model number on the back of the headstock

Is this correct?

In your diagram it looks like there's a jumper on the push-pull and a ground coming from there as well. Or should there just be the one ground from the bottom of the push/pull?

Ah, I see what you mean. Bad doodling by me, I didn't erase well.

The black wire, of the humbucker is joining both lugs on the push-pull, but does NOT go to ground. It joins both lugs and then goes to the switch. Just erase the black wire that goes to ground and you got it.

Thanks for the drawing by the way, I wish I had that software.

Ok, updated the image.

The software is Diagram Studio from Gadwin Systems. However, it doesn't come with the assets like pots and switches. I had to make those using the basic shapes that come with it. Not hard to do, just kinda tedious placing the switch tabs and such. The connectors are also part of the basic elements, and you can set their color and size and whatnot.

They have a User Library at the site where users can upload their custom-made libraries for the program, but so far no one's done guitar-related assets.
I'm still building my library of switches and pots and drop-in things like phase and treble bleed mods. Once I get them done I'll upload them there.
Only thing is, I'm not sure how popular this software is among those who do guitar wiring diagrams. I guess most people just use a paint program?

I'd really love to find a program that does both electrical simulation and custom asset creation (or have a library of guitar-related assets already). That way you can connect a wire and see what's going where in the different switch positions.
