A Verdict

drew_half_empty

Looking for Real Life
thanks to everyone who helped me along the line, but here's the verdict

the twin is A) too much amp & B) can't voice pedals like i like. I added all the chunk possible & it still made my #1 sound like a modern hi-gain pedal

Cyber twin - hates pedals. done.

Cyber twin SE - oh my friggin god. I'm in love. The only complaint i have is that the preamp tubes make it a LITTLE too sharp sounding, i'll hafta get new ones to warm it up & round it off. But seriously, this thing has everything I could ever want, the fender tones are amazing, the twin setting sounded better (to me) than an actual twin! It voiced the #1 pedal perfectly. The british sounds were...okay at best, but I don't like british sounds, heh, if only i could erase them.

To anyone who tries them - the factory presets are all pretty useless, if you wanna get TRUE tone from this amp, dial in your own tone! It even lets you choose the speaker polarity. Right now i'm not sure what effect that has, cuz i only used standard polarity, but once this thing enters my bedroom, I'm pulling an all nighter, and I'm 100% confident I'll find the perfect tone...or 3.

I'm still in awe

Re: A Verdict

So how did you come to the conclusion that the CT hates pedals? I've been using pedals through mine since day 1? What pedal(s) have you tryed through the CT and with what clean settings? That's just wrong info!

Re: A Verdict

same clean setting as the SE, blackface twin.

and i was using my modded ds-1 & modded blues driver, tho my blues driver is my favorite of the 2

maybe it doesn't HATE pedals, i just like the way the SE voices them

Correct...I run an entire pedal board with many different pedals through my CT even though it's total overkill...I also use a "buffer" though so there's no loading at all at my CT's input...Pedals load down your output and highs..

where can i find one of these buffers?

I make my own,but I think there are other buffers out there? Maybe others will chime in for you? I don't make buffers that I sell...

or you could hook me up with a schematic & parts list

LOL....It's my own idea...Just too time consuming to make and sell...Too busy with other stuff... :smack:

Re: A Verdict

I don't think it hates them, i just don't like the way it voices them

if i used a lighter drive & wanted a more round chimey sound it'd be perfect, but right now that's not what i want, so

That's perfectly ok...There are tons and tons of amps out there today,so a guy might as well take his time finding the right amp..

Re: A Verdict

and i found it

too bad they're brand new & i prolly won't be able to find one on ebay, well i could, i'd jsut get outbid, stupid dial up

anyone wanna reccomend some tubes to make it sound warmer & fuller & more natural?

Re: A Verdict

are you actually buying this amp, or just probing again?

wasn't it a Bassman last week?

anyway, I'd suggest asking the same question here, if you're serious:
ask Myles

Re: A Verdict

no i'm buying it for sure. I've played A LOT of amps in the past few weeks & this is the only one that has given me the warm tingly feeling inside

and the bassman was a few weeks ago
