A very rare NGD for me!

Well, lookie here...

This was bought through Godin 's artist program. It is a semi hollow Montreal Premiere in trans black- although it looks jet black, it is actually a black burst, going from true black on the edges to translucent black. The body is Canadian wild cherry, with a mahogany/rosewood neck. The pickups are Seymour Duncans, but I am not sure which ones, as I was expecting just stock Godin-branded ones. I will have to wait to change strings to see what they are. The guitar is just over 6lbs, and very comfortable.

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

Very, very cool just by ear what do you think is in there for pickups? Are they hot, bright give us the poop Dave.

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

She's a beaut!!! Our friends to the north make a great guitar for a fair price!!

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

am rarely impressed with how a guitar looks. This is one of those rare times when I am overwhelmed by the looks, Godin did everything exactly right to bring together a stunning looking guitar. Congrats!

Very cool. Gives off a very nice jazzy vibe.

Sweet ride, Dave - interested to see what labels you find under the pickups.

Wow! That is a looker. My first thought is that is right in line with everything I have heard you play. It will do just about whatever you want I bet.

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

Wow!!!
A beautiful guitar, but it's also cherry... Have always wanted to hear cherry, what's it sound like?

And always imagined the wine color of a cherry dresser... guess we're seeing cherry in the bout photo?

Very cool.

That looks gorgeous
Looks to be Les Paul sized

I have developed a fetish for L.P. sized semi hollow guitars my self

Talk to me about nut width
Neck shape
Balance
Radius

C'mon the usual dish

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

Do you plan to deck the tailpiece?

I found the TP6 fine tuners work very nicely on mine

Re: A very rare NGD for me!

Thanks all. It is bigger than an LP, At the widest point, it is 15" across. Cherry is warm...at least this guitar is. It is great for jazzy tunes, but also takes overdrive well. I have small hands, so the neck is perfect for me.

Canadian Wild cherry top, back & sides with a "breathe-through" carved spruce core.
Mahogany set-neck.
Rosewood Fingerboard.
Contoured high-gloss black headstock.
Custom polished high-gloss finish.
Double-bound binding.
Graphtech ResoMax bridge system.
3-way toggle switch, 1x Volume, 1x Tone
12" (300 mm) fingerboard radius
24 3/4" (629 mm) Scale
1 11/16 " (43 mm) nut width

Looks good. Congrats.

I like Godin products, especially their more traditional looks.

I have a G-4000 that I just love. I lopped off the ugly toucan horn and refin'd it, but I left everything else stock.
