A way to man's heart is NOT......

The way to a man's heart is through his ribcage. ;)

Nice guitar, though. :)

Re: A way to man's heart is NOT......

Damn, I was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off....:laugh2: That's the last one I would have guessed, although an import Hamer was going to be the next guess based on your recent inquiry about when they went to Hamer pickups.

It definitely sounds really good. Listening to the metal clip now and that is a killer tone. The JB (or the Duncan Designed JB) sounds incredible in that guitar. I'm surprised it's that heavy. Last one I picked up was black w/flames and was about has heavy as my Tele, which is 8 lbs.

Thanks folks :bigthumb:

Don't get all technical with me young man! :laugh2:

Thanks Rich.

Heh...I intentionally did not answer you in that thread cos of that. I actually was hoping they had a Hamer Echotone....the 335-ish guitar. I played one a couple months ago, and it was the best sounding hollowbody this side of a real deal Gibson I've tried (maybe better...gasp) Unfortunately the thing was beat to crap and the eelctronics were falling out. This Sam @$$ didn't have one...just the double cut studios/archtops and this thing.

This DD JB is the clearest, fullest one I've heard. It's 90% of the way there to the "real" thing...it matches up real well with the alder/maple in this guitar. The DD Jazz is not quite as up to the real thing, though it sounds pretty good as it is. The DD JB and single coils in my Jackson were not nearly as clear or full as these are nor were the ones in the other Hamers I tried with the DDs.

I've gotta eat some crow here, cos the DDs make my Dean and Ibbys stockers pale in comparison. And they are pretty good pups compared to like Epi or some other MIK/MIC stuff.

This one is easily as heavy as my USA one which was over 9.5 pounds. And I took off the plate last night: I think this thing has a real 1/4" maple cap (with a veneer)..hard to tell for sure with the shielding paint, but I'm fairly positive.

I always thought the way to a man's heart from his woman is by tossing his salad.

When I heard your first clip, I almost was gonna guess 335 copy. It just has that sound and vibe that screams that style guitar.

Damn, that is one heavy piece of alder. Contact Hamer and see what they can tell you about the top, if they'll tell you. My gut tells me they will.

Zakkly. Its not quite as full in the mids as a semi-hollow, but I was dng impressed with how well this guitar sounds. Best Damn Alder tree in China I think :laugh2:

This thing weighs a TON. But I like it. Very solid. Guitar doesn't move unless YOU move it..:laugh2:

And Good Idea. Thanks. I don't feel like pulling a pup :laugh2:
