Teh control panel will face up on a tweed style amp. THe on position is relative to the forward face of the amp.
But there is actually precedence for on to be down. It really doesn't matter as long as the light lights up when the switch goes one way or the other.

i heard about you getting stuck. Its a bummer bought the freeze, there is a serious lack of oranges up here in alasaka.
P.S try to island hop to the big island and check out Kona while you are in hawaii. There is alot more small town feel there, much more relaxing than honalulu. Hilo is really rainy and probably isnt worth the drive, also if you go to kona take an ipod, the radio statons are crap, there is one good 60's 70's rock station, its something like 104.7 or 105.9 they play good music but the reception is sketchey, the Beaches are pretty good, Spencer Park is pretty good but there are no waves at all, Manua Kea Resort has a great beach but there are only 30 public parking spots so you have to get there about 9:00 in the morning, the waves are eccelent and there is a bar and restaurant at the resort. Close to Manua Kea is Hapuna Beach, it has very big waves and a huge long flat beach, there is some great body surfing and boogie boarding at both hapuna and manua kea. I have been to hawaii quite a few times (my dad gets lots of Flyer Miles) i would definately recomend a trip to Kona.
