A while back...

This past summer I picked up a Line 6 Spidervalve HD II 100 watt head. I recall that I said I would post a sound clip asap. Well, it's still 2017, so I may as well get this one in. I'm playing my Ibby 123 with an Alt8- SH6n set direct into the Spidervalve (that's right! no pedals!) going through the Carvin 4x12 with 12M-70's. I'm playing along to a backing track I put together with myself on bass and rhythm guitar along with a drum track from Youtube, going out through my Behringer GX212.
Enjoy.

I still have pedals, but I don't find a need to use them with the Spidervalve.

I have a few, but the main ones I use are the Compressor and the Looping pedal.

Said I was happy with 2 pedals (Phase 90 and Echoplex), bought another, and another, and another, and before you know it, I am a pedal Barron. Funny how this hobby of guitar manages to suck money from every opening in your wallet and bank account Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy guitars!

Exactly. Use whatever gear you choose to get what you want/need. Makes no mind to me how someone gets there as long as they enjoy it when they get there.
