I know the feeling. After 23 years, I'm back on the same guitar and amp I started with.

You must have started with a MUCH better guitar and amp than I did! Mine were terrible...

I am happy to say that the sound I have in my head is pretty easy to achieve on almost any good well-playing guitar through most any amp with a little reverb on it. I play with loops and guitar synth and long delays, but man, I spent 1000s of hours in a quiet room reading through music books, practicing with a metronome, develpoing picking accuracy and playing over changes. I feel confident with just a guitar/amp setup, but I also like making strange noises, too.

The opening line has so much truth to it for me it's incredible. I just picked up a Waza Craft Boss Chorus pedal and man do I feel at home.
