A8 in an Evo?

So I've got an Evo in my Ibanez S series. While I like the neck pickup, I find the bridge to be a bit grainy/fizzy sounding, almost like there's a boost somewhere between 2-3k. Would an A8 mag swap help smooth that out a bit while keeping the power?

Have you tried adjusting the pole pieces? Sometimes it can make a huge difference.

An A8 should definitely smooth out the top while keeping the power.

Or you could swap it for another evo neck and toss it in the bridge, it's wicked in there man....

Cool. I've heard that Dimarzios are difficult to replace magnets on due to their construction. Is that true?

This. The double hex coils allow a lot of wiggle room for dialing in.

For some of, but not all of, their models, they'll glue in the magnet to the baseplate with anything from a rubber cement that's easily-removed to an epoxy that's meant to last thru a nuclear war.
