About Picks and Pick Scrapes

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes

i use dunlop tortex, 1mm(green) and 2mm(purple), both picks are damn near indestructible(except for that time in wood shop with a vice.......and a saw), my favorite picks are the tortex, good stuff.

fender picks on the other hand, well, i'd go thru like 3 of those a day

+1, I have a chain filled with broken fender picks. Since I switched to the yellow Tortex picks, I have yet to break a pick.

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes

+1 lol - they are nice colours thoug, looks like fender thought ahead on the necklace thing :laugh2:

someone mentioned how they got sick of the fender picks falling apart, switched to dunlop... found a fender pick a while later, loved the sound to the extent they were willing to buy them more often...

who was that? i forget *sigh*

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes

I go through picks by the gross. I've been using Fender's celluloid rounded triangle (346) in heavy or extra heavy when i can get them. Pick slides pretty much destroy them, but I like the sound of the slide better than i do with delrin or nylon.

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes

i rmeber that post too, someone sddenly used a fender dring a gig and loved the feel.

Scratch my earlier post, i went back to nylons, tortex are gerat picks but they don't seem to have that feel that i like when i play a bluesy solo. I tried to play some random blues absed solo with the tortex and i foudn myself hitting wrong strings and just plain screwing up. I went back to my nylon and the feel of the nylon felt liek home, not to mention my solos actually sounded decent. I gues ill ahve to cut back on pick scrapes.

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes

Hmm, i wana try them ultrexes but i dont know... I use a big stubby (dunlop) right now, i shaved the tip thinner for monster fast arpegiating and it works vey well, and i just "Got use to it" for regular playing, i love a pick that you can get a grib on and wont bend EVER unless you try to break it, but current problem is, theres not a long enough of a tip on the stubby's, anyone have a suggestion for me?

Re: About Picks and Pick Scrapes
