About that JCM800...

The guy will sell it for $700 head only, I am trying to get him down to $600 though. I've been trying to get him to split the head and cab up for a while now. Should I snatch it up?

If its the original cab... Thats gonna be at least a third of the tone... maybe more... But 600 would be a good price. what model is it? 2204? 2203?

It is a 1990 2203. It is not an original cab, it is a 2006 1960A with G12T75s. He wants $900 with the cab, but I don't want the cab because I think it makes the amp sound harsh. Also, I don't want to mess with selling it so I want the head only.

I think you should've offered him $800 cash when you first went to see it... OR taken both head & cab at $900.

They are the stock speakers in my 412. They are either Jensen or Jensen/Bugera. I'm not sure how to open the cab to check. They are decent speakers though and they tame my Classic 30s harshness. I'd like to open up the cab to change them eventually but I'm not sure how, other than opening the front.

Get the cab he has it will look great and sound great with other speakers. Put some celestion 30 watters in there and you will have warmth and punch. They will also sound great with your vintage 30. MArhsalls need celestions. like Yin and Yang

Alright guys, I think I'm gonna do it. I'll bring $700 and if I can't talk him down to $600 or $650 I'll know I still have a good deal. I cash my paycheck tomorrow and I'm going to get out some crisp new $100s.

Nah, I wouldn't be too surprised... I remember when they were $300-400 all day long. One of my friends paid $250 for a mint 50 watt single channel... But asking a guy who's already beyond fair on a half-stack to go lower?! If I was the seller I'd stop taking YJM's calls...

For $900 you should take the cab too. You have a Behringer?! See if he'll take $800 for the whole deal... but you SHOULD get the cab & sell yours.

Check out this 2205! That's a little high IMO... Doesn't even have the Drake transformers.
