Accoustic Metal - Pickup like Jazz and EMG89

What pickup would be the best for a Ibanez RG565 vampire kiss?

I will put a JB on the bridge and for the neck I was thinking of a Cool Rail or Custom Stack plus (STK-S6).

I like a round clear sound with sustain like the JAZZ. I would like to play clean song like Metallica or modern metal.

thanks for your precious help.

the col rails does sound closer to the jazz for sure. 500k pots? the custom stack+ can sound good in the neck with a hotter bridge bucker, itll have a more single coil tonality though

Yes 500k pots! Looks like I should go with the Cool Rail! A frien told me I should take the Little 78. What do you think about it?

Well, the Cool Rails is the closest to the Jazz. The Little 78's EQ has more mids than the Cool Rails. It would be great if you are trying to get away from a similar sound that you already have.

Let us know how this project turns out!
I finally bought a Cool rail with a Seymour duncan "A" JB SH-4 custom shop santa barbara! Do you think it's worth it for the custom shop instead of the original SH-4? The output is :16.83K

I just wish to know if I did the right choice... Will I be happy with it or should I simply take the original one?

many thanks.

correct. you need multiple conductors for splitting. if there is only hot and ground, cant do it. a normal production jb should have 4 cond wiring. ive heard the antiquity jb is a fantastic pup though

So
Most of my JBs are trembucker sized with four wires

Yours appears to be the vintage wiring with the single.push back wiring

Any standard model should be four wire

Your cool rail should be the same.

SD will swap it for you I'm sure

IMG_8728.webpthis is the oem selector with oem pickup. Im just wondering why the hot(black cable ) from the bridge pickup is soldered with the ground (Green) next to my finger. Seymour duncan offer a different Wiring diagram. Am i right Thinking that I should do the exact same thing as the original wiring? (ibanez pickup)

Thanks for your help…

Thats just where they attached the ground
Instead of soldering everything to the back of the volume pot

If you trace all the wires to that point, you will see they are just the grounds

On the SD it should be
black as hot.... to the switch
And green to ground
Red and white being the coil connection

The Ibanez uses different color codes
I think they are red hot

Also on the Ibanez switch does a
Neck in parallel function
That puts the coil connection to the switch at position 4 I think

@Kurayami do you have a multimeter? Ibanez colour code is different to SD, just measured the stock V8 I replaced with a JB in my RG565 and it's like this:
- White is hot
- Red/Green - split
- Black - ground
I haven't replaced the neck yet, I find it quite usable - but so was the V8 before I replaced it, both stock pickups suit this guitar very well.
