Accoustic Metal - Pickup like Jazz and EMG89

Happy you like the Cool Rails! The Black Winter is a little more 'modern' sounding than the JB, but still goes well with the Cool Rails. Honestly, it really depends on what you don't like about the JB.
I have a schecter c1 Classic with Jb and jazz combo. Now both my schecter and Ibanez sounds quite similar… I Would like a pickup a bit more modern. I also have an hellraiser with emg and I like it too. Im looking for Something in between +1. Thanks for your Precious help.

View attachment 6325702Thank you guys!! Project completed !! I like the cool rail! I think I’m ready to try Something new! Do you think it would be great to replace my JB with a black Winter? Do you have another pickup model I should be looking for as a Jb replacement ?
That looks killer 🙂 As @Mincer suggested, think of what you don't like about the JB in that guitar first. I had the BW set in my 550, but it didn't last long. Both neck and bridge sounded very stiff and impersonal, maybe because that guitar just lacks low mids. After replacing the set with a TB-6 / Jazz set the guitar came to life magically. Now I have in there a double ceramic Custom in the bridge and an Alnico 2 Jazz in the neck, I think the double ceramic Custom is the better Super Distortion 🙂
In the 565VK I have a JB with A8 in the bridge, but I'm thinking about a magnet swap with a RCA5. This guitar is more balanced than the 550 so it might also take a BW better. But if you're looking for volume balance between neck and bridge you will struggle, BW is louder than the JB

It looks like the Jb is just fine for me. Maybe sh6 or custom. Black Winter is a bit too much for me.

If you like modern tones, check out the Pegasus, or even the JB Rails, which should notch it over to 'more modern', too.

I've been playing JB/Jazz for more than 20 years and I finally decided to buy a Cool Rail/Black Winter. I just want to let you know that it sounds incredible! I really recommand this setup! The guitar remains very versatile, but with added character and more personality.

thanks for your precious help!! :)

Yes !! Stacked humbucker
Well, side by side humbucker in a single coil size.

Since I’m really happy with my Ibanez RG565 Black Winter/Cool Rail, I decided to buy another Ibanez (RGRT421). It’s a great neck-through guitar, but it has poor pickups, bridge, nut, and tuners, so I plan to upgrade everything to bring it up to a Prestige level.

I like Black Winter/Cool Rail and EMG 81/85/89/60!

I’m wondering if I should go with Black Winter set, Nazgul/Sentient, Black Winter/Sentient, or Black Winter/Jazz?

thanks for your precious help!!

It really depends on what you want out of the guitar. How does it sound now vs where you want it to be.

I think i will choose nazgul/sentient for the clarity but i’m still curious about the black Winter/sentient.

I think I would be happy with both set on heavy gain but for the clean I think nazgul/sentient would be better or more versatile.

Cool! The Black Winter set is actually capable of much more that the name leads you to believe. It sounds good at all levels of gain.

Some people like the neck pickup to be milder than the bridge, but if you want balance, I wouldn't recommend the BW/Jazz. The Jazz doesn't have enough juice to keep up, IME.
