Aceman: check out these I built!

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

Can't wait to see this one...

you'll hate it. It's made of tasmanian figured blackwood with a single piece pau ferro neck, ebony board. Hipshot locking trem, HSS set (SH6N/SH12 hybrid bridge, 2x SSL5 in neck and middle). It's heavier than most Les Pauls. It's a b!tch to work with!

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

I saw the pics! Very nice! But you know, I dig light wood...haha.

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

FWIW, I think your prices are really reasonable, especially considering the quality I know you put into your guitars.

Comes to it, I'd rather give that amount to you than to a big company, plus get a true hand-built piece of art for the price of a run-of-the-mill LP. No contest in my mind.

I think even Peter's prices are reasonable for what you get, even though they are nearly double Orpheo's. Orpheo's guitars are just that more amazing considering their prices...very reasonable.

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

Ironically, I don't really care for the baby grand bridge either but it was the easiest way to identify the guitar.
I really like the looks of those "uglybuckers" but then again I like a lot of things that other people think are ugly.

I love Fuglybuckers and have at least one in one of my more recent builds.

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

Hey Orpheo, how do you do your carved tops (LP types)? I just finished one that I did all by hand and it was so much work I'm feeling very shy about doing another.

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

either of two methods.

I rout steps and sand that off.

I carve it with a powered carver and sand that smooth.

Re: Aceman: check out these I built!

Beautiful work, Orpheo.

Very inspiring to those of us who aspire to that level of work.
