Aceman - You Might Need Another At This Price

Re: Aceman - You Might Need Another At This Price

I honestly can't believe its being let go at that price. There are tons of folks who want more than that for their LP Trad + or Std +...and this is a custom shop piece.

Re: Aceman - You Might Need Another At This Price

The market is so flooded with high-end CS stuff right now, it is one of the best times to buy nice used LP's ever.

All the boomers are starting to liquidate their collections and nearly nobody but that age/income bracket can afford to roll that hard on a Gibson. Guys are losing 40-50% on Collectors Choice or pulling them back out of the market. If you ever wanted a really good one now's the time with Gibson pretty much only having six months to live. '13 through early '17 probably being the best bang for you buck and possible future value. Once they fold all bets are off on American CS stuff. Hard to say though for sure what will happen, but great used prices now are for real.

It looks like $2400 is the going rate on that version. That's the 'aged' version not the VOS. IMHO the 'aged' would be better as all three pickups work in the 'aged' model. My understanding is only the bridge worked on the VOS and the pickup selector switch just functioned like a kill switch.

One of the pickups didn't... work?

Am i missing context or am i rightly asking: When can we get over this ****-tonne "of tone" and look at what it is: that-other-great-iconic-guitar-no-the-one-without-a-whammy-bar-please or SG-but-heavier-and-not-cool-looking?

Two of the pickups weren't wired in. In the original guitar Ace used at the Budokan concert, only the bridge pickup was wired in, so the $8000 VOS version is completely accurate, down to the nicks and finish damage and the wiring. The neck pickup had to have the smoke bomb in it for his big solo.
