Re: Acoustic amp?
If you are new to it. dont buy any amp.
Spend at least a year getting to know the sounds your acoustic is capable of. There is an incredible amount of tones in there gained purely by how you touch the strings. Have a listen to some classical players to hear what I'm talking about.
You will get more practice done, and you will get much better much quicker if all you have to do is pick up your guitar and start playing without messing with cables and tone knobs or effects.
After you really feel like you are progressing, invest in a nice microphone (preferably a condenser) and an audio interface and start recording yourself. There is nothing better than the process of recording and hearing yourself played back to help you work out what you do well and what needs improving before unleashing your amplified sound on other human beings.
Learning to sound good is an art that takes years (at the very least) and too many people have the misguided view that they can sound better through a bit of knob tweaking, or more gear purchases. Take your time, enjoy the process of really getting to know your instrument, and as you do, you will pick up more knowledge along the way re: gear choices.
