Acoustic Electrics...

How would an acoustic electric sound through my Peavey Classic 30? I want a new acoustic and am wondering if an AE would be worth it. I'm looking to spend 3-4 hundred on either a Seagull, Alvarez, Yamaha, or Ibanez. In this price range do you think I should stick with a regular acoustic?

Re: Acoustic Electrics...

ok but not great. im not a fan of putting acoustics thru electric amps, they never sound all that great. passable yes, but never like they should.

i would put the money into a better guitar without electronics. if at some point you need to plug in there are plenty of pups that you can choose from

Re: Acoustic Electrics...

I didn't think it would sound amazing, and what you said makes sense so new thread topic!

What models of acoustics are known to be a great value for 300-400 dollars new?

Re: Acoustic Electrics...

I run my acoustic through my HRD. I don't think it sounds bad but it will sound better through a nice acoustic amp. Just takes a little tweeking of the eq. My acoustic is a Ibanez PF series acoustic/electric. It's a great guitar for the money. I paid around $300 for mine new. It's got the AEQ SS 4 band eq and Fishman system in it. I've been lusting for a Taylor for some time and the Ibanez is no Taylor, but I think it's great for the money.

i run the martin through the fishman through the crate, it sounds good, but obviously not amazing, i like it though. I wanna try it through the fender but havent gotten the chance yet.

3-400 = Seagull or Alvarez !!!

and what jeremy said was dead on
