Acoustic Simulation (Telecaster)

so, I have a Fender telecaster and for my new music project, i'm going to need to find a way to get a solid acoustic simulation from it. I know there are some pedals for acoustic simulation, but i wonder if they are decent? I also think there is probably some kind of pickup system that might be what i'm looking for? I don't know if those systems work with every kind of guitar though.

any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you're just recording,I'd play a real acoustic miked up. For live use, the Fishman Powerbridge/Powerchip system is nice, as long as you don't smack it too hard when you're strumming and you play through a dark acoustic amp (like a SWR Strawberry Blonde).

Re: Acoustic Simulation (Telecaster)

I have a virtual-T (Dimarzio) on the neck of my ash tele, and running through the clean channel of my Mark IV on bright, it almost sounds like a piezzo. I have always wondered if this is what the pup is supposed to sound like or if mine is damaged or something.

Anyway..... I had the Boss AC-2 for a while and it sounded somewhat acoustic like but I had issues with output levels, and eq levels on the bottom which if overdone would overload the speaker and if underdone would make the guitar sound real thin. The other issue is an electric feels so different from an acoustic, I could never really play it the same way, and that subtracted from a lot of acoustic parts. The newer model may be better (AC-3).

Another possible option is a Line 6 variax or Fender VG type of setup. I've never tried either personally but the clips I have heard sound better than the boss pedals.

Re: Acoustic Simulation (Telecaster)

the MIM power tele with the built in Fishman bridge sounds like it's the model for you... The Fishman bridge can be added after market but it can get costly...

I bought a Godin Solidac for piezo stuff... it was fairly inexpensive for stock guitars with a piezo bridge... but the Fender MIM Power Tele is a good buy....
