Whats your prefered acoustic tone wood? I knwo msot people won't answer this as this is a mroe electric forum but ya. I liek maple alot, but mahagony comes in close second. Maple just seems to have a better voice to me.

The tone from my Martin is absolutely hypnotic and addictive. Solid rosewood back and sides with a solid spruce top.
Somebody once told me that rosewood has a nice warm tone with a built in reverb. This is very true. Play a chord or hit a note and the rosewood will continue to sing. you can feel the vibrations throught the top, back and entire body. It can be real loud and punchy, or very soft and mellow and warm. Its one of those things that you have to experience for your self. And once you do you'll be hooked. I love this guitar like it was a baby...

I have 10 acoustic guitars some Rosewood, some Mahogony, one maple. They all sound good for certain things. I tend to lean towards Rosewood back and sides with a spruce top. I am having a custom guitar made by Cris Mirabella. It will be Quilted Mahogony back and sides with a german spruce top, and Rosewood FB and Bridge. This guitar will be an OM size and will be used for a lot of things, but I think it will become my main Acoustic. My #1 right now(and I don't see this changing anytime soon) is a Santa Cruz OM. It is truly an inspirational guitar!

brazillian rosewood- the holy grail of acoustic guitar tonewoods- now only found on high-end , high dollar and custom-made acoustics.

Somehow I just think of something like an Englemann Spruce top and mahogany back and sides as heaven. There is this brilliance that a good spruce adds to an acoustic and I like woods like rosewood to warm it up and add some other frequencies in there.
