Hah I raise the stakes Mr. Jolly. Not only am I showing a little Strat love but it's mostly acoustic and it is written by Patti Smith. It is a real rough demo I am doing of "Dancing Barefoot" for my band, hope you like it.

Hey Scott, You capatured a really cool 60's vibe on that one.
The Verb and Fuzz was right on the money. Did you use the
Lefty Strat too?

Thanks Ken. Yeah that is "Lefty" going into a Boss Amp Factory with Recto setting mids and bottom dialed out to get the raspy 60's fuzz sound.

hehehe....raising the stakes eh?:D

Is that you singing? I like your voice. Cool song man. As kmc stated, you definitely nailed the 60's vibe. I had to run outside and look for some flowers to put in my hair.:9: I realize it's a rough demo, but it still sounded good. It'd be cool if you could throw some bongos and some sitar in there.

I reckon I'm gonna have to raise the stakes now and post my completely off the wall song.;)

Well I hope they were dead flowers ;)

Yeah that's all me. I have to try and get a sitar sound for that little lead part that would be great. There will be percussion on the final version maybe I can get Fonzie to play bongos.

Lets hear the off the wall one bro I love your stuff, as long as it's not disco, heehee!

Hey Scott -

You already know that I love Patti Smith. Hadn't heard this one in a really long time 'coz I don't have it on CD.

Funny that you really nailed the "Summer of Love" vibe even though Patti performed the tune at least a decade later. Cool, especially for a rough demo.

BTW what did you use for that wicked fuzz in the background?

Chip

Ahh I was going more for "This Ain't the Summer of Love" but close enough I guess.

The fuzz is my Strat into the Boss Amp Factory with Recto (R-fier) setting mids and bottom dialed out - gain, treble and presence cranked w/4x10 speaker sim.

Yes you got a good 60s sound here. The instruments compliment each other nicely and your voice really works the tune well.

I like that tune.. she was a true tough chick rocker..

Thanks Steve. I think I played it too close to the original for what I am really looking for looking at it now so I am going to make some changes to it to see if I can make it more of a Nasty tune. I have a few other covers I am doing some fast rough one takes on, Mother of Pearl by Roxy is next if I can figure out a good way in to it.

Here's another rough one that I think came off with the right vibe. Forgive the drummer he only knows one beat:9:

Very kool Watts. I know I've heard that tune before...Because the Night is the only Patti tune I know which really rocks. Good job and just drop your action down real low...you'll be buzzin' and sitar'n big time. :13: I gotta figure out how to record stuff...Mac has a kool program called Garage Band. I'll put that on my long list...
