Heya guys just been away in cornwall for a week with a group of mates camping. Was awesome but i was thinking of you all here at the forum :) .

In the week away i played alot of acoustic on my mate's that he brought. Spending days and evenings being lazy sitting around our tents playing like hippies. I loved playing it once i got used to it, and my chording has improved and my playing is just generally better coming back to the electric now im home, not to mention playing an acoustic was fun. I would like to get one but ill be going off to uni and i think i would only have room for one guitar, the electric :smack: Argh sometime ill have one. ok bad speech over! Still tired from journeying! Just had to say!

Dude, I totally know what u mean. I went camping a while back, my friends and I were just sitting around the campfire playing acoustic and just singing and stuff. So fun. I think that was a real bonding moment with my friends, and I've always thought of them as brothers.

Do they let you hang stuff from walls? Can't u just hang one of you geets on the wall? It'd save some space. Can't live without an acoustic and an electric.

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

I suppose possibly, i don't know exactly what the accomodation will be like in the uni i want to go to, but in my backup choice the rooms are tiny. Will see i suppose. If i can get one ill get an acoustic after im settled in uni.

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

i have a samick acoustic that i don't play anymore because the low e string's broken, but i don't feel like changing strings..i have a manuel rodriguez classical guitar anyway so the samick doesn't get played..i wonder where it is now...it was always at the back of my room, but i don't see it anymore..lol

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

I sure miss my "knock around" ovation that I traded on my Marshall. An accoustic is essential for variety IMHO.

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

If you like playing you'll find space for the guitars in your dorm. I'll have 3 electrics, 1 acoustic, a 1x12 combo, 5 space rack, and a wah and delay pedal. :laugh2: Having an acoustic is almost a requirement at college. Everyone gets drunk then you go outside and play and sing along to all the songs everykinda knows lol, its great.

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

i played two awesome acoustics at a store a few days back...

Martin HD-28...awesome...that bad boy is supposed to be "THE" acoustic guitar...i liked it but...

to me the Gibson Hummingbird that they had sounded just as good if not better to my ears...and it was half the price...!

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

Just been at my local little guitar shop. My Kramer needed some truss adjustments. Took the opportunity to try a £160 Crafter. Korean built. Had a cutaway, was not bad to play, but not sure about its sound, was a bit on the trebly side. On the net i could get a Washburn with cutaway, electro acoustic for £190. Hmm decisions. Sometime ill go into london and see what else there is. Find a good 2nd hand deal.

Re: Acoustics Rule!!!

try out some Takamine, Alvarez, Fenders, & Ovations...you can probably score one of these used for a good price...and they are great sounding guitars!
