active-passive pickup combination

is it possible to use a passive pickup with an active pickup system? I just installed 2 emgs (the 81 and 89) into my Ibanez RGT42. I like the 81 but the 89 sounds more like a tele neck pickup than a humbucker to me (maybe I just installed it wrong). I wanted to put the sh2 into it, but I don't know if a passive humbucker would sound the same with 25k pots.

I don't use actives myself but I am pretty sure it was covered recently. try the search function out.

the short answer however is that you would need to replace the pots for the passive pup to work correctly. it shouldn't hurt anything to try it out but it will most likely have a undesirable tone.
