the biggest thing i have trouble with when i switch guitars is the PICKING. for example my LP is lower slung than the tele, going between the two, i'm picking wrong strings for a little while.

the LP is lower slung, just cause its more comfortable there, tele is in the middle, strats are higher, but its not a huge difference between the three, maybe 4-5 total...

This seems to be a self-induced problem. Not sure what you're looking for here from us, other than to: 1) get used to the different heights you intentionally chose to hold your guitars at, or 2) adjust them all to the same height. Not like we can help you out on this one.

Err... JOKE?

I really don't blame Gibson for hanging their guitars too low...

Re: actually, what screws me up when i switch guitars is...

is that really a problem?

when my main guitar feedsback a bunch, a guitar i ordered came with a different pickup, a bunch of screws are stripped. rusty screws, ground hum. getting shocked.

singing out of tune, breaking strings...

is adjusting a strap really that bad?

I don't understand this "switching guitars takes me time to get used to the new one" thing.
I can play a strat/24 fret Jackson, swap it for a LP and I don't really notice a difference.
The only thing is if you learned a solo on the 24 frets and have to play it on a guitar with21 or 22.

But playing different scale guitars? I don't understand the issue.

+1. Maybe an 'adjustment period' of a minute or two. After that you should be good to go. Switch more often and it will be second nature.

Re: actually, what screws me up when i switch guitars is...

I have a similar issue going back and forth between my Tele and my Gretsch...my Gretsch also has a much smaller string spacing, so that takes a little getting used to...the radius is also much different on the necks which screws me up a little to, but I can play either one easily enough.

Re: actually, what screws me up when i switch guitars is...

Get 2 straps, one for the Tele and one for the Gibbo and measure them out before a show for similar position.

yeah the only trouble i have is with my picking hand, everything else doesnt seem that different

i have each guitar setup to be comfortable, just due to the different shape/ sizes the tele is higher than the LP.
