Now I've got my own thoughts on the Bullet's weaknesses and Squier's QC in general, based on my time selling them, but some os these complaints are just hilarious:

"3 of the 5 pick up spots create a buzzing sound on the amp" Welcome to single coils...

"get a gibson les paul custom..." CLEARLY a main competitor for this model...

"The clear channel is really good but the disturtion is really bad" I can't seem to find the channel switch on any of my guitars...maybe I should buy one of these.

"It's starting to die on me, the input jack is loosening up" Then tighten it...

"strings ring after a jam session" Conjiggawha?

lol - well, don't trust the user reviews of the bullet market, at least. =)

Reviews are kind of like the Olympics....you have to throw out the high and low scores.

After that you need to look at who is playing what and for how long. The HC database is a great resource once you get your "Idiot Filter" working right.

I usually set my filter to "13-year old Blink 182 Fan who doesn't know jack ****" and I'm fine... :22: :laugh2:

I mean keeeerist I mean I knew more than that dipwad after my first lesson!

On one hand, some of those "reviews" were hilarious.
On the other hand, I didn't realize there was a Squier for $80. :saeek:

As an "experimental wiring" guitar, thats not too bad.

Or.......use it on the last song of a gig.....set it on fire and bash it to pieces on the stage.

^^^ which is why you never start your set with a Who cover

and this was my favorite one:

"when u turn it up realy loud it makes a really really high-pitched noise, which gets really annoying"

oh god, THE GUITAR IS DEFECTIVE! IT'S POSESSED! DEMONRY!

BURN IT!

Ahh yes I forgot about that.

Thos people will be good candidates for Adam Corolla's Nationwide Genitalia Collection and Confiscation Program.

Listeners of Loveline know what I'm talking about. :D

"get a gibson les paul custom..." CLEARLY a main competitor for this model...

I was shoping for squier bullets, and i noticed a gibson les paul custom lying in the corner that was in a similar $50-$4000 price range and is a guitar that should reasonably be compared to a squier bullet, since they both have necks and pickups and such. Both of these guitars are in my range, since my playing is somewhere between that of a chimpanzee and jimmy page. When compared side by side, the gibson les paul custom won by a hair. Oh wait a minute... THAT NEVER HAPPENED
WHO COMPARES AN 80 DOLLAR GUITAR TO A GUITAR THAT COSTS THOUSANDS?!?! Im glad people post things like this. It makes my life sightly less dreary

Re: Add these to the list of reasons it's a bad idea to put faith in user reviews

Wow.. I wonder how much it costs them to make those, if they can profit selling it for $80.00

Re: Add these to the list of reasons it's a bad idea to put faith in user reviews

Wow. I didn't think that there was a place to find less useful reviews than HC!

Seriously, I even take my friends' reviews with a grain of salt. I have a buddy who has great taste in gear but we sometimes hear things differently. Even though we have a lot in common, I wouldn't necessarily buy something based solely on his raves. It's always important to consider your source.

Or for learning to do fretwork. I have a feeling that might be the ultimate destiny of my Squier Strat.

Of course the Gibson is better. It has four pickups while the Squier only has three. :banghead:

Re: Add these to the list of reasons it's a bad idea to put faith in user reviews

They'd work well for that. They're really quite servicable, I think, but the overall feeling of cheapness is undeniable. That feeling doesn't seem to translate into unreliability, though, as I never saw any absolute lemons come through back when I was selling them and never noticed any particular flood of Bullet repairs. I always had concerns about the truss rods, though. My Fender rep once referred to them as being made of "pot metal." I don't know if he meant that literally or simply meant that they were made from a cheaper grade than other series, but it always made me a bit weary. But like I said, I never really saw any influx of Bullets with warped necks or anything, so I can't imagine the issue is all that bad.
