Adding a bullet to the truss rod

I really like the way those bullet truss rods look on some of the Fender Strat necks. I have one that came with one but I also got one that doesn't have it. The one that doesn't have it still has the truss rod adjustment at the nut though so I wondering if I could just buy this from Stewart Macdonald and get instant gratification:

I think a .357 may be a bit to heavy, you´ll probably go right through the neck..

maybe something more like a .22

It all depends on the way the truss rod access hole is drilled, and if the threads on the rod will match those on the nut. If the threads line up, and you don't have that little piece of walnut, I don't foresee a problem. But then again, I have no experience doing this.
