adding a cover to a humbucker

Aside from wax potting the space between the inside of the cover and the top of the pickup, and of course soldering the cover to the baseplate, is there anything more I need to do if I install a cover on a humbucker?

I plan on taping the screw holes in the cover, turning it over, putting a chunk of paraffin wax in and melting it w/ a hairdryer, then pushing the humbucker into the cover and thus into the wax. How much wax is enough for this? Should I put enough in so that when I push the humbucker into it, the excess wax squeezes out between the edge of the cover and the bottom of the baseplate?

It really doesn't take much wax, if you open a covered Duncan there is just a 0.5 mm or so layer of wax in the cover, just enough to keep metal to metal contact at a minimum and reduce vibrations.

Use sandpaper to lightly rough up/clean the baseplate and the cover at the solder points, this helps immensly.

I have a 59B unpotted with a gold cover. If i unsolder the cover so i can do a magnet swap,is easy to resolder it back in place since it's unpotted without making the pickup micrphonic?
I've never took a unpotted / covered pickup apart before so i'm not sure if it's worth the hassle and if i'll make it worst when i resolder it if i don't get the gold cover on correctly.
