I believe Jackson guitars experimented with adding something like lead inside the guitar bodies to add weight...could be wrong on that. I do like the Fender Fatfinger Sustain Enhancer...I like the way it sounds on my guitars but I don't know if its just a placebo. lol

I built a LP with brass control plate cover and metal humbucker mounting rings, the latter from StewMac. I noticed that they were substantially heavier than their plastic counterparts.

So i'd recommend replacing plastic control cover plates and/ or pickguards with metal versions, and likewise for the humbucker mounting rings. Adding a third humbucker could be an option for some, too, i suppose.

My '88 jackson has that!! two whole drilled into the body below the lower strap button and filled with lead. Its actually makes the guitar fairly heavy, its a 10 pound guitar

My '88 jackson has that!! two whole drilled into the body below the lower strap button and filled with lead. Its actually makes the guitar fairly heavy, its a 10 pound guitar

Kramer also had one where there was a metal rod inserted into the bottom half of the body from the rear.

Somehow that sounds wronger than it actually is :lol:
