Adjusting pickups

Hi.. I been having some trouble adjusting my pickups they are the most common set (Jazz, JB) could you please post some tips on how to do this and make the sound smooth.. thanks

im not sure how to adjust the pups for the smoothest sound. what is it that you dont like? what type of guitar is it in?

Smoothest sound would be as close to the strings as possible without the magnetic pull hurting sustain.

Don't worry with the screws, they don't do a whole lot.

I don't know if you can really get a JB to sound very smooth. It's very grindy in the upper mids.

I think that he was trying to say:

he wants to get the best sound of out them.

I would recommend not setting them too close to the strings.

i mean, you would lose output, but GENERALLY distance can actually give you more sustain because the magnets arent pulling the string so much.
