Admiration for a 59 :D

Got my '59 bridge model from the ebayer. Took it down to my local guitar repairer. She drew me an icy look when she found she would have to work on a 335. Then she saw the pup, and complimented me on my good taste.

:D

Thank yoo, seymour!

What kind of guitar repair person or luthier would give that kind of look at a pickup swap in a Jazz box? They are not that bad. Just a few simple tricks.

BTW, good choice of a pickup!!!!

The worse thing about replacing a pup in a 335 is that you have to remove the complete wiring harness, no, it's not that hard, if you use the tricks mentioned above, just a time consuming thing, not like just popping a pup in a solidbody, with control cavity.

yeah, she wasn't THAT stressed about it - just said they would charge me a bit more cos it would take some more time and effort, which I'm totally cool with. I sure wouldn't have to reach through those sound holes to play with wires....

what took me by surprise is that your luthier is a she! way cool!

+1 We need more of those. In fact, I need to marry one.

Sounds like a great choice of pups for your guitar, Jimbo. We expect a full review in the very near future, of course. :)
