Advice on a EDS1275

Hi all

I always dream of having a EDS doubkeneck for myself. After saving for awhile, I could afford one finally.
I happened to come across one at a good price, it is a 1997 model with probably 57 classic PUs.
Would it be a good buy compared to the later models , which are more expensive?

$3000 - 1997 model
$5000 - 2005 and later models.

I wonder why is the diff so big. Any advice from the ground?
Thanks

Thanks for the heads up.
I personally don't think there is much change on the wood selection and PUs could be standard throughout the years.
Couldn't really find the specification difference ....

Just that it is either more vintage or newer.

I'd just get an Epiphone ES1275... Unless you plan on playing a double-neck for entire set or more...

Gibson will be better head shoulders above Epi on these models by a large amount. Played several of both older and newer models.

I'm not an expert on the 1275, but it looks reasonably legit. Someone else might recognize the logo placement, serial placement, etc. much better than I. The mismatched switch tip colors is an odd thing, however.

Man .. you're really observant!
I didn't notice that.

anyway I b0ught it .
Waiting for the arrival. Pics coming soon

Thanks

Oh, I believe there ain't much of a difference whether it is an old (pre-custom shop years) or newer model (from custom shop).
Just that the making of the guitar was shifted to the custom shop from 2002 or something onwards correct me if I'm wrong.
