Advice on changing pickup on a Ibanez RC520

I have a PRS like guitar (Korean made Dean form 2008). Great Mahogany body.
The stock pickups sounded meh in a live situation. It was like my guitar dissapearing in a wall of sound.
My current band can be described as post-metal.
Based on reviews I bought a black winter set for that guitar. I'm very pleased with them though the high-output seems a bit overkill.

My backup guitar is an Ibanez RC520.
I prefer the Ibanez playability over the Dean and it can handle small nuances a bit better.
The Ibanez is meant for indie / alternative rock.
The RC520 has a chambered Mahogany body / maple neck.
Soundwise Ibanez (with the stock pickup) is a bit less bass heavy and a little bit brighter than my Dean guitar.
The stock pickup is okay-ish but in a live situation the guitar sound tends to fall apart.
I don't know if this can be "solved" changing the pickup or maybey it is the guitar in combination with the sheer volume of the band playing.
Since it did work (changing pickups) on the Dean guitar I want some advice on which pickup I could choose.
I want a pickup that punches through live with good definition. I'm not into a trebly sound and I want the bass tight enough. Not too "loose".
The pickup output doesn't matter a lot since my amp has more than enough gain to offer.

I play on a Mesa Boogie trem-o-verb 100w 2x12.

First thing that comes to mind if the BW is a bit much is the Pegasus, tight, considered a medium out put, not too bright from Ive heard.

Also maybe the Distortion which is kinda like the early version of the BW.

I say a JB or Alternative 8. You won't get lost in the mix with either. And they are both plenty tight for modern metal.

Yeah, the Pegasus was my first thought here. It is super tight, with clarity without being shrill. It will cut through a dense mix but won't cut your ears to shreds with high end.

Will the Pegagus sound great on any guitar also when not playing metal (like in heavy / alternatieve rock)?

Actually, the Pegasus is one of the only pickups marketed to metal players that sounds great for many styles- even clean. The Black Winter would be another pickup that does that cool trick, too.
