Advice on old Aria Pro II replacements?

Hey,

I am the semi-proud owner of an Aria Pro II Cardnial Series Bass (CSB-300).. Its kinda ugly.. honestly, and the pickup is less than exemplary. However, the neck is the nicest thing I've played on-- and I'm not too worried about looks.

So-- all that said, I've been looking around on the various sites for information, but I don't really know specifically what I need. Money isn't a big issue. Just something that fits in my insturment, with a broad range of balanced, warm tonal optoins. Active would be cool.


Can anyone help me out? At least by pointing me in the right direction.

What format are the pups in it now, do you know what wood it is and how is it routed?
This isn't an everyday model, so it's a bit tricky to give advice without pix or details.

Heres what I know:

Body: Contoured flat ash
Neck: Maple
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Scale: Medium 820mm
22 frets
1 MB-IV Pickup, double-coil
1 Volume 1 Tone controlls
Ugly ass finish.
