Advice on Pickups for Death/thrash metal

Hey guys, i've been doing a lot of research lately on pickups becuase i'm thinking of changing the bridge PU (Seymour Duncan JB) on my schecter c-1 classic. I play metal, mostly thrash/death and the tone im getting with the duncans is a little too thin and i need something more crunchy/more attack for palm mutes. Right now my setup is:
5150 II halfstack with a 5150 4x12 --> mxr 10 band eq --> c-1 classic.
I've been looking at the Dimarzio X2n, emg-81/85, and duncan live wire heavy metal... Any advice/tips would be much appreciated, thanks a lot

With that amp, I would say that EMGs may do pretty well - they have a little more high end than the Live Wires to bring out the pick attack. The 5150 has a good amount of low end and low midrange, so some high end in the pickups will sound pretty nice.

it might be your set-up. i own the JB & it does death/ black metal with ease. it's anything but thin sounding.

I think you might need to boost your mids on your if your getting a thin sound. Try the Dimebucker.

Can't go wrong with EMG's for that type of sound, but the X2N won't be bad either if you don't want to go active.

I've used the JB with such with quite good results, but if I were playing nothing else than it I would go straight for a 81/81 combo. For metal it slays, otherwise it's a bit too boring IMO.
