Affinity Tele Special

Anyone have any experience with the Affinity Telecaster Special. I saw one at Sam Ash the other day for $169 and it looked great and played pretty good. It was a butterscotch, made in China.

I'm a throwing away money for one of these. Not really looking for another guitar but it looked interesting. Not too sure about the quality.

i think they have an alder body, so thats a plus

I played one briefly the other day when I was trying out a few Tele's. For the sort of money that you are going to pay its not that bad however the pups will need to be changed as they sound too harsh and brittle.

You will have to go through a few to see which one is good because they all sound and feel different. They will probably need a good set up (unless that is included in the price). But I would seriously consider getting a MIM Tele or even a Hwy one if it was me.

I would shy away from the Squire Affinity series. They have thinner bodies, which makes for a thinner tone and might make it harder to replace hardware with standard sized parts.
