last time was just depressing

And I admit....I didn't do a very good job but I've been tweaking this for a while and I'm happy with it.

Hopefully this will go better. :smack:

Re: Again, and again

Much better.

Gave you a 4. It could've been a 5 but you erased the thread in the middle of my answer...

Why the hell am I always here???? oh yeah, I'm trying to work on my thesis and I'm stuck!!!!

Re: Again, and again

I didn't listen to the first attempt but this sounds quite good.

On that range it's a 3 for me :D

Re: Again, and again

i like this better than how i rememebr the first one, liek the tone and the playign better.

sorry if i got you down man, i was just tryin to offer some constructiev critisism

Re: Again, and again

Here's another one of channel 2. I like this one a lot too

It's aptly named the e minor improv. Because it's in E minor pent. I think I went into major a couple of times though. :laugh2:

Re: Again, and again

I think you're really onto something with this chord progression. I mean obviously the usual critiques apply, but that's definitely not a bad thing. Your chord prog is just cool. You could do some really cool stuff in those chords. What are they? I might have to steal them! :)

Seriously though dude, very cool. Leagues better than your post a few weeks back.

Re: Again, and again

youre makin strides, young gun ... keep at it

and get a metronome - seriously ... you'll be leagues ahead of your age peers if you develop a solid sense of time in your rhythm playing ... just tightens it up in so many ways ...

and learn about multitracking too ... at your stage of developement (and mine :D ) switching between chords and single notes typically results in suboptimal performance due to transitions .. so cut the rhythm tracks then go back and hit the single note riffs dead-on as an overdub

nice work

As for the metronome thing:
Do you mean that I switch tempos (which I probably do) or do you mean the beat is bad?

Re: Again, and again

The beat isn't bad, its just slightly irregular, I still play like that, i took me years to get it right on the piano. I always try and play with a metronome.

Re: Again, and again

Oh, there was a song? I just thought it was one of those weird meta-polls that pop up from timte to time. Sorry about voting 1, then. Not a reflection of the song, which I didn't listen to.

Re: Again, and again

+1 on the metronome . . . when you listen to the song on playback, try tapping your foot at a steady rhythm through the whole song. If you have to slow down or speed up to match your foot to the song then you need a metronome . . .

+1 ... yeah, this is what i meant ... there are times when your transitions are rough and it causes you to slow the beat down until you get yourself settled ... practice / repetition will help you get all those transitions down smoother and this will keep the beat to be more steady

it is fine if the composition calls for different tempos in different sections ... but when you are in that section, it should be steady ...
