Aged covers?

Frito's Better Half
Where can I get Aged white (read: CREAM) colored pickup covers and knobs? If you look at a real vintage 60's strat, you see that the pickguard turns to a mint color while the covers, knobs, switch tip, and trem arm tip go cream. Anybody know where I can pick some up?

Re: Aged covers?

it easy to age those plastic parts, just blow some cigarette smoke on it. it will take just one pack of cigs i think :smokin: let a smoker friend do it for you if you dont smoke. dont start smoking just for your guitar :)

Re: Aged covers?

I've tried the aged white Fender stuff, and it's mint green, I want a cream color. I've got the covers, now I need the knobs. they dont age as well as covers.

Re: Aged covers?

who said I ordered them, and this new plastic is alot harder to age with one pack of cigs than the old stuff.

Re: Aged covers?

how would one pack of cigs age it? doesnt seem right to me..... i would think it would take many gigs in smoke filled rooms and sh!t to make it age like that

Re: Aged covers?

put them in a small box, close the box off entirely except for a little hole, and have someone blow smoke into the little hole

i'd say one pack over the course of about 3 days or so would do it, haha repeat if necessary

Re: Aged covers?

Coffee, smoke, and then just keep smothering it with a rag.

Or the less hazardous (at times)...eBay?

Re: Aged covers?

really strong earl grey tea worked better for me than coffee. They came out a beautiful cream color.
