for the guitars we used an ENGL Powerball and an ADA MP-1 through a 4x12 with V30/V60 celestions.

Guitar wise I used my Ibanez RG550 with a Dimarzio Double Whammy in the bridge, HS-2 middle and an Al Di Meola Neck and my RG570 with an Dimarzio Evolution and EJ Neck

Ryan used a BC RICH Warlock with EMG's and a Jackson with Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demons and Full Shred's

Had a listen to all of your songs on myspace and you guys certainly have your stuff together. The tones were brutal and the songs were intense. Keep up the good the work!

Is that Christopher Walken talking at the start of "Forced To Kneel"? I love that guys voice.

There isn't anything that immediately sticks out lacking. Maybe the guitars could use more presence but it might mask the grinding quality to the tone. I guess you could call it "smooth", but it works really well for music you're playing. Plus it leaves a lot of room for the vocals to cut through.

The drums sound a little bit raw and distant but it only adds to the character of the overall sound. It's great to hear death metal that doesn't sound sterile in the name of clarity or transient edge. There seems to be a good balance between wetness, dryness and rawness .etc

If I was to be hyper-critical then I would say there is some muddyness but I really don't think it gets in the way of what your band is trying to convey. I love the sound of old Venom and Bathory so maybe I'm the wrong guy to ask lol.

Re: Aghast - the winter collection

dude, so do we... we hate the sterile metal tones these days... we just went for it. The whole thing cost £300 which isn't bad for what we got, very impressed with the guy who did it.

Thanks for your words man, ill pass them on; much respect!

Re: Aghast - the winter collection

I love itt!Reminds me the old O.L.D stuff. But better...I dig it.And i loved the "fast food metal" thing hehehehe....Fun stuff...The guitar tones are tight and well mixed...And i dig how the "vocals" are not dominant in the mix!...Great ideas ,creative and fun!

Re: Aghast - the winter collection

Oh cheers bro! yeah thats basically what we're about we take the writing seriously... but thats about it!

The guy who mixed and recorded it doesn't like metal, and we don't really listen to it. Myself I listen to more Van Halen than Vader!
